Higher taxes, more government
In Wisconsin, a Lake District is an additional government entity with the power to charge increased taxes.
A lake district could cost every Moose Lake property owner thousands of dollars in additional taxes. Unlike the MLAA, which Moose Lake residents can choose to contribute to — or not contribute to — lake districts have the authority to charge ALL lake property owners additional taxes to pay for projects.
